I like Cavaliers. Or, I guess I should say, I like both the look and functional the idea behind the Cavalier. The problem is, as often as not, modern renditions aren't actually functional, lacking a moisture-well in the extended shank, and even a lot of traditional, older examples, while functional, tend to prove rather awkward in hand. Well, this Tinksy design is functional, and, thanks to Mark's addition of a good bit of bend, it's far easier, and far less fiddly in hand as well. On top of that, it packs plenty of grain, it sits wonderfully, and, taking a page from the original purpose of the now-famous Dunhill stem mark, he's placed a small, simple white dot near the rear edge of the underside of the well's bocote cap, making it clear when you've got it oriented right.
