Quite a few carvers have chosen to incorporate morta into their designs now, but very few of them seem to leave the petrified oak polished smooth - preferring to sandblast away the imperfections. Mark Tinsky doesn't seem afraid to give it a try, and the result speaks for itself. His smooth finish brings out this Dublin-esque bent Bulldog's interesting grain patterns - a bit of cross and three-quarter grain enveloped in layers of rings. Mark chooses to accent the natural darkness of the ancient wood with creamy white vulcanite accents at the base of the stem and along the rim. Free from resins, it offers a purer smoke in a delightful composition.
