Peter Matzhold: Smooth Bent Tomato with Boxwood
Product Number: 002-290-0261
A plump Tomato with a fair bit of freehand, Blowfish-esque aspects thrown in for good measure, this Matzhold, as is typical of Peter's work, displays precise, clean shaping, exceedingly fine fit and finish, and, of course, loads and loads of great grain features, all skillfully managed to work in cooperation with the design's line and form. The manner in which the tight, fine birdseye stretches across the right flank is obvious, but just as remarkable is the way the the shaping of the bowl, from the position of the transition to the smooth ridge sweeping down the forward face of the bowl, play to the rather compact curve of the briar's cross-grain.
