This Whale, which seems to be channeling shaping cues from the likes of Blowfish and Horn forms, seems truly different than the majority of offerings available from the new school of American carvers that have cropped up over the last four or five years. And that's a good thing. Modestly sized and delightful in the hand, this sitter sports a deceptively deep tobacco chamber and perfectly agile stem, which leads me to believe that this may very well end up being some lucky pipe guy's favorite smoker. It's finished in a handsome red sunburst stain and features a few specks of plateau on its left flank.
