The Cutty is one of those pipe shapes that few makers seem to bother with regularly. It's a pretty old school form, far from the kind of languid, gestural, free-flowing lines that typify the Danish (or even Italian, at times) school of pipe craft. Very often it's just a canted Billiard or Dublin. Now that I mention it, that's exactly what artisan carver Pete Prevost has served up here with his latest offering. And it's a darn good looking pipe. Simple, modest, free of accent and adornment, this is really just a choice pipe for the easy-going pipe smoker.
