One of the smaller renditions in the "System" shape chart, the '313' plays on that unique stout-shanked shaping aesthetic that has made Peterson so conspicuous in the pipe world. Then there's the star attribute that first solidified Peterson's stature; the "System" design. Eliminating condensation that would otherwise collect in the draft-hole, the patented design gained instant fame as the K&P name came on the scene at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the design is the same, but the finishes I'd say, are so much better, this fine '313' being a case in point.
