One of the smaller renditions in the "System" shape chart, the '313' plays on that unique stout-shanked shaping aesthetic that has made Peterson a mainstay in the pipe world. Then there's the star attribute that solidified Peterson's stature in the pipe world; the "System" design. By boring a small well below the access to the draft hole that collects moisture that would otherwise collect in the draft-hole, the patented design gained instant fame as the K&P name burst onto the scene at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the design is the same, but the finishes I'd say, are so much better, this fine '313' being a case in point.
