Brad Pohlmann is a blaster par excellence
, but, at least to my way of thinking, of equal importance is Brad's uncanny ability to pair the perfect type of blast to complement a shape. When it was appropriate to the composition, we have all seen him create finely etched, very "Danish" blasts that remind me quite a bit of Former. In another composition, one that would show a greater vitality with deeper cuts, he has been known to create Ashton-like troughs. In the case of this compelling Apple, the overarching shape gives a pronounced nod to the direction of Denmark, with a tiny tip of the hat towards the American school, and its subtle emphasis on the bowl. Brad "splits the difference" by coaxing out a gorgeous grain of light-to-medium depth, and then rolling with a superb dual stain. I love this guy.
