Pipe enthusiast who have been around the block, and studied more than a few Iversson and Chonowitsch creations might say this piece, and indeed all of the PS Studios line, is clearly influenced by the Danish modern. The undeniably plump shape, rounded and smooth in line, should be a dead giveaway. Vladimir Grechukhin might disagree, however, citing industrial and automotive designs as his muse. While I have to say the comparison may be a little vague, if you take into account less contemporary strands of 20th century design, such as the more curvilinear forms of the Art Deco movement
, his reference may become more clear. Despite its aesthetic lineage, what's surely undeniable is the supple shaping, the wonderful feel in hand, and the warmth present therein.
