Rad Davis is no stranger to the Tomato. And by that I mean to say he's produced his fair share of Tomato shaped pipes. And for good reason: he does a superb job. The long, elegant line created by the successful harmony of the bowl's heel, the shank, and then the stem is exquisite. The rest of the composition is settled in along this line, allowing the line to nearly solely define the character of the shape. The result is supple, languid, beautiful. The warm, medium-contrast stain rakes out some exceptional, wispy grain here handsomely and is nicely complemented by a choice piece of cumberland for the mouthpiece.
