Broad, smooth, and beautifully grained (the flame grain is great, to be sure, but to my eye at least, the birdseye underneath is even finer), this is a lovely low-slung, Danish-inspired design by Rad Davis - pleasing in hand and to the eye alike, as well as an excellent sitter. The accent, though quite subdued and minimal, is noteworthy as well: its completely smooth, uniform texture makes it clear that it isn't organic, yet it's subtle, warm, off-white makes for a much softer, more natural look than something so simple as white acrylic. What is it then? The answer is tuskanite, a material that shares several similarities to vulcanite, yet, containing neither sulfur nor rubber, is particularly distinguished by the property of being completely resistant to oxidization.
