Easy, gestural, and even a touch languid from bit through to transition, this Rad Davis's precise and upright bowl stands as something of a counterpoint to everything that follows behind it. A shape that contrasts itself isn't an easy theme to tackle, and in less deft hands can make for a design feels less like a single whole and more like an assemblage of parts. The key words there of course are "less deft", as in less deft
than those of Rad Davis. He knows how to pull something like this off, and that's just what he does here - and while he was about it, he made the most of some very lovely flame grain as well, and some seriously spectacular birdseye.
