Rolando Negoita: Carved Walnut with Bamboo
Product Number: 002-298-0197
Well, Transylvanian-American pipemaker Rolando Negoita has thrown down the gauntlet: If you think you can make a bamboo-stemmed briar more slender than this, best of luck to you. You'll need it. This is, in all seriousness, easily the thinnest shank and stem combination I've ever seen - not counting the knuckles, it's about on par in breadth with one of those extra-fluffy pipe-cleaners. This is no mere lark, however, as the whole design does fit perfectly together, matching up a fine, light, plateau-crowned bowl (with a fair bit of chamber) on one end, and a sleek, comfortable bit on the other.
