While at first glance you might expect this exceptionally fat-shanked Lovat to be a rather weighty number, internally it's mostly empty space; that great, broad tube that precedes the slender stem is in fact a vast cooling chamber. It's a new interpretation of the engineering behind the traditional gourd Calabash, designed to provide the smoothest, coolest smoke possible, and Rolando Negoita, as an artisan, has fully embraced the novel, playful approach to form and balance entailed.
Each of Rolando's "Conducta" cooling-chamber pipes comes with its own tamper, featuring a clothes-pin like notch on one end - quite useful for holding a piece of paper towel or patch-cloth when it comes time to clean the shank's expansive cooling chamber.
