The Author, and in particular the fuller-bodied Italian version of it, is a curious shape. Sandblasted or rusticated, the round and voluptuous bowl provides acres of texture in hand; finished smooth, it proves relaxed and sumptuous. And from unstained "virgin" presentations, to the darkest and richest finishes, it always comes off naturally. It is, in short, a shape for all seasons. In the case of this Rossi Siracusa we find a very shapely one indeed, paired to the gentler warmth of a light burnt orange, accented by a simple ring of bright-polished brass.
