The legendary Savinelli Autograph line has never been terribly prudish when it comes to large eccentric shaping; case in point, the bent Billiard you see before you. As unconventional as it seems, especially for the time-honored classic Billiard shape, the whimsical nature of this piece never runs the risk of becoming ridiculous. On the contrary, because of the skill and technique found in its craftsmanship, the precision of its flourishes, the design ultimately appears as natural as if we've seen it a thousand times. An easy bending gesture runs its length, trailed along the shank by twin creases which become ever more pronounced at the bowl, then concluded by a crown of plateau.
An '8' puts this pipe very high on the grain grading scale, and its painfully obvious it's earned it. This piece contains some of the most beautiful grain I've seen... on any pipe: drop-dead gorgeously fine waves that appear gently fanning.
