Savinelli went properly old-school for the design of their 135th Anniversary pipe, rendering it in the form of a Cutty, a shape that's descended from the spur-heeled clay pipes of old. Aside from its extensive history, it also happens to be a shape style with a great dynamic, and which lends itself naturally towards a comfortable fit in hand. After carving theirs from briar, Savinelli's cinched the shank with a special-edition sterling silver band, fitted on a stem bearing the signature of Giancarlo Savinelli himself, and then, finally, set a piece of steel, bearing the the Savinelli logo, into the Cutty's heel, allowing the pipe to be displayed prominently on its own special magnetic stand.
