"His eyes - how they twinkled! his dimples how merry,
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry;
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath."
- From T'was the Night Before Christmas (unexpurgated)
While revisionist might be trying to erase Santa's status as a pipe smoker, pipe-makers are not abandoning Christmas, Indeed, they continue to recognized the Yuletide holidays with some of their finest pipes. Case in point, Savinelli offers up this beautiful Acorn, with a fine sandblasted stummel, gentle arching shank and stem and a sterling silver band for decoration. It is a pipe you can easily picture clinched in the jaw of that merry old man.
