About This Pipe
Cross grain doesn't get much better than what you see with this lovely little classic bent Billiard, the "601". The honey-blond stain does a splendid job highlighting the grain, no doubt through extensive coating, sanding and coating again, to achieve the grain definition. As the grain sweeps across either flank, atop the rim, and throughout the shank, the only surfaces left, both the front and back of the bowl are covered in birdseye.
