It can be slim pickings out there when you're looking for a simple, classic French briar. Chacom and Butz-Choquin make some nice traditional shapes, sure, but a lot of their offerings sport modern gingerbread; colored acrylic stems and accents, and so forth. Though also tend to be on the larger side. For the perfect, old-school, briar-and-vulcanite, no-frills and no-fills pipe of handy proportions, there is one sure go-to, however: Sebastien Beo.
