Ser Jacopo: La Pipaccia Rowlette Bent Billiard (02)

Product Number: 002-171-1893

The "La Pipaccia" designation was created by the late Giancarlo specifically for designs inspired by the pipes he saw enjoyed by mariners who made call at the ports of Pesaro. Given that many of these pipes were liable to have been of far-off and obscure manufacture, it's little surprise that this series produces a lot of unusual shapes. In this case, a round-bottomed hybrid of Stack and Poker fr the bowl, but bent at the transition, and sporting short shank, mushroom-shaped mount, and an extended base for the stem. While mount and stem-base here are all made of briar, I get the impression that whatever pipe inspired this design probably had a much less understated make-up of multiple materials.
