Ser Jacopo: Rowlette Billiard

Product Number: 002-171-1872

The "melting wax" theme is something unique to the Italian school, apparently first appearing at Caminetto during its Radice/Ascorti era, then being continued by both Giuseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice in their own individual styles, after they'd each left Caminetto to independent. As far as I know, the late Giancarlo Guidi, founder of both Ser Jacopo and the Pesaro school itself, had no connection to Caminetto, Ascorti, or Radice, and so it's no surprise his own approach to the melting wax finish was so different. Specifically, instead of being abstract and impressionistic, it's a detailed, obvious depiction of rivulets of melting candle wax working their way slowly down the bowl.
