I just held this rusticated Rhodesian up and asked Bear to guess just how many "Maxima" stamps graced the shank... He wagered three, maybe four. I am glad that it was not just me who felt that only two seems a little off. It is beneficial to the new owner, however, as they will have only paid for a few Maximas, when this piece actually deserves many. Bear and I have decided that the only logical explanation for the lack of Maximas is that the artisan was about to throw on another when the "espresso break" bell rang... The bowl will fill even the largest paws, yet the chamber is narrow and deep, making for a much more manageable smoke. In true Ser Jacopo fashion, a standard Rhodesian shape simply won't do. Instead, the shank and lower section of the bowl are paneled, while the portion above the bead lines is free of paneling.
