Rusticated Calabash (R1) Tobacco Pipe

A sharp, if rather hearty Calabash, rendered with a hint of the Rhodesian, this Ser Jacopo design manages to strike it's own unique ground, without being particularly conspicuous or whimsical about it. The sharp gesture of the shank caught my own eye, especially given how it plays into the contrarily broad, solid curve of the underside and heel, before the shape goes off again into a sharper style via the bowl's decisive taper. In fact, the whole design seems to alternate this way - gentle curve of stem, straight, sturdy shank, then curved heel/underside, followed by the smart taper, followed finally in turn by the gentle bevel of the Calabash rim.
