Smooth Blowfish (Lion) Tobacco Pipe

The complex, refined, articulate yet copious lines of this Lasse shape are in and of themselves a thing of beauty - that is to say, this is a design which would look great even carved out of a material completely devoid of texture or color. As it is, however, Lasse has presented it to us in a lovely, though rather quiet piece of briar, featuring lightly scattered freckles of sizable birdseye along either flank, and a cross-grain similarly matched, excepting along the rear face of the bowl, where it becomes particularly dense, albeit still fine-grained. All of this is finished in a dusky burnt orange, lending the overall composition a warm, subdued look, understating the complexity of the design itself.
