About This Pipe
American master Todd Johnson's approach to, and execution of this horn leaves one with the impression of viewing something with a sense of the timeless about it. The pipe starts with a rim of rugged plateau, and then begins a regular, predictable taper to within the last two inches in front of the mount (also plateau) where it holds diameter. It's within this hold, as well as the foot that is formed at the heel, that the sensation of having discovered this pipe at a dig comes into play. The grain, as you see from Adriennes photos, is quite formidable.
