Yuki Tokutomi: Sandblasted Apple (Yuki)
Product Number: 002-477-0030
The daughter of the Japanese master Hiroyuki Tokutomi, Yuki has been making pipes since mid 2005, and so far, she's produced some really interesting numbers. She tends to prefer smaller shapes and bowl sizes with a style influenced by both her father and Danish masters like Gert Holbek and Sixten Ivarsson. Although a rather long-shanked rendition, Yuki adheres to this tradition in this bent Apple — featuring a modest chamber and bowl paired to a relatively thick, slightly tapered shank. The perfect size for a bit of folded flake or traditional kizami
, it's an elegant composition finished in warm contrast stain and light sandblast and topped with a cumberland saddle bit. Yet another beautiful briar from Yuki Tokutomi.
