About This Pipe
A few times in the past, I have encountered a blowfish from Hiroyuki Tokutomi that impressed me as more geologic than aquatic, so this pipe did not come as a total surprise to me. "Total" is a key word, for there are some aspects to this pipe that are new. Toku-san went to great lengths to stress the unity of the pipe, as a whole, smaller beveling is all that really separates the shank from the main body. This is also the first time that I have seen Toku do such tall, sheer panels, with a profound emphasis on creating the impression of finely chiseled stone. At first glance, I would not think that this pipe would be very "hand friendly", but it fits remarkably well in my right paw.
