Count this as the first time we've been able to offer Tonni's rendition of the Danish modern standard that is the Eskimo. There are only a handful of carvers that are daring enough to attempt this Sixten Ivarrson shape (Tom Eltang and Alex Florov come to mind), though ordinarily, we'll see this form hybridized with the Bulldog. However, this time the carver has fused the idea of a flat and wide shank with an upward arching, almost scooped bowl, more reminiscent of one of his Shield designs. The result is a handsome one, ever more so in the kind of ruddy chestnut stain that juxtaposes so nicely against a rich horn stem accent.
