Tonni Nielsen got his start at W.O. Larsen, which gave him the chance to learn under Former and Knudsen. He would go on to develop his own style, as one should, working greatly in shapes inspired by natural forms. It's been some time since we've seen one of his "Rhinos" - the last one showed up back in 2004 - and it would appear that this shape has undergone quite a bit of change. Where those older examples looked much like a "horned" version of his Wave shape, this one presents a modified Egg instead, the bowl form if anything more reminiscent of a real rhino's long, immensely heavy head. Like both the Wave and the old Rhino, it still presents a broad plane running from shank-end to the forward edge of the rim, a perfect place to show off choice birdseye, as seen here.
