About This Pipe
Tonni Nielsen never ceases to pleasantly amaze me with his small, thoughtful shaping details. The bowl of this dublin is fairly straight forward, with the cool addition of a foot at the base that adds a cool sense of the amphora to the composition. Almost any other carver might have come in with a round or oval shank. Not Tonni. Meeting that handsome bowl is an inverted tear drop shank that directs the eye to a softly domed, birdseye filled rim (completing the circle). Lovin' this man's work!
