Walt Cannoy: Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Padauk Wood (4)
Product Number: 002-117-0055
Here Walt Cannoy has done something quite unusual. He's rendered us a smooth-lined beauty of a bent Billiard stummel, and then matched it to an intentionally heavy stem. The funny thing is, while this has left us all scratching our heads, as Bear has pointed out it actually works. It doesn't look "wonky", as we would have expected. The trick I suspect is in a combination of just the right proportions between length of shank and length of stem, and just the right curvature and taper to the latter. However he did it, Walt rendered this briar with an interesting profile character - a Billiard with a classic "Roman nose", if you will.
