The first time we ever received Walt Cannoy Suedeblasts, we were left scratching our heads. Was this finish really
a sandblast? It was, and is - there's no chisel, nail, or pick that could produce a texture so fine. Perhaps a surgical scalpel intended for micro-surgery could do it... assuming Walt was spending about half a year finishing each pipe under a magnifying glass. He isn't, of course. Rather he's simply come up with a secret combination of blasting media and set-up to create a finish in which the tiniest details of the briar's natural structure are drawn out preserved. The result is a look, and feel, utterly unique in pipedom.
