Werner Mummert has some strange ideas about pipes. Oh, granted, I'm sure he'd make you a straight Billiard if you asked nicely, but left to his own devices, he's more likely to produce something like this. What is this? This is a Werner Mummert - and I wouldn't expect to see it mistaken for anything else. Why this concept is called a "Spike" should be obvious, but the "Cavalier" part, perhaps not so much. Rest assured, however, that these are in fact functionally Cavaliers; the length of exotic hardwood that appears to pierce straight through the bowl does, in fact, pierce straight through the bowl. They pass right through, and the chamber's drafthole is drilled down into them, while they themselves are drilled out along their entire length. Add a threaded cap (the tip of the spike), and the result is the old Cavalier's engineering, presented in a wild new form.
