Extra-broad and very bold in its proportions, while this Bulldog shape would come as a bit of shock from most any other pipemaker, amongst Werner Mummert's creations it is right at home. Werner is an artisan who simply does not do conventional. Here we see that applied not only to proportions and form, but also to engineering - the latter courtesy of the reverse-Calabash drilling that leaves a cooling/condensation chamber tucked away inside the extra-wide shank. So unconventional is this design that it took me quite a while to realize that is also one of the very examples I've seen of a Bulldog accented with natural plateau.
