While Poul Winslow holds all his artisanal creations to the same standards of smoking qualities, he does discern amongst the medium from which they were fashioned. And only the finest blocks of briar make for one of his Private Collection pieces. But then that no doubt is self-evident here, as you can see that from end to end, from top to bottom, and from flank to flank, this Winslow number is, quite simply, exquisitely grained. He made sure to bring out all that natural beauty as best he could, of course, via contrast stain that is both warm and bold, and fine enough to preserve every detail.
