It's a fine Virginia, a little sweet and bready, but half way through the bowl I get a distinctive soapy finish, not really what I'm looking for in any blend

Blended orange and yellow virginias with an extremely light topping of maple sugars, if I’ve heard correctly. Just a delightfully smooth all day blend. This is the one I reach for when I don’t feel like fighting or experimentation with a new blend. Citrusy and smooth. Bready, with some nice tea flavors. I don’t believe there’s any perique in this one. If there is it’s at an extremely low percentage. Not very spicy through the nose at all. Nice chunky broken flake cut. I like to pack this one a little tighter because of the courseness of the cut. Or I’ll palm some and roll into a tight ball and stuff. Beautiful in my Virginia dedicated cobs, but also quite nice in briar. Can get extremely hot if pushed. Recommend caution if you’re using meerschaum and like to smoke fast. I’ve spent the first several years of my pipe smoking journey in the land of aromatic blends. I wanted to try some non aromatic blends and chose this as an experiment to try and learn about how Virginia tastes. This tobacco smokes smooth and slow for me, which is my ideal pace. I find the blend to be most enjoyable when I keep it cool which is easy with this broken flake. There is just a bit of zestiness to the flavor at cooler temps. My wife bought me a Chacom Jurassic 268 recently and I’ve devoted that pipe to this blend. This is a really good, classic Virginia blend. An easy smoke at all times of day. Lots of bright virginias that give it a good hay, grassy, bready sort of note.
