About This Pipe Tobacco

I'll start by saying that right out of the tin the tobacco has a nice scent. Slightly sweet from the cavendish but you can definitely pick up on the other tobaccos in the blend however faint.
Smoking it was what led me to giving this a 3 star rating. The aroma that wafted around the room was somewhat vanilla and mostly vague sweetness. The flavor was kind of the same, that is when I could get this stuff to stay lit. I don't know if it was the Oom Paul I was using or if the tobacco was too moist, but it did not want to stay lit and bit my tongue a few times. I felt like a steam engine the way I was puffing on it. Maybe it was bad technique on my part, I did give it time to rest many times while trying to smoke it.

I'm going to give this some time to age and revisit it. I will update this review when that happens....Read More

This tobacco has a nice aroma. It's not as heavy on the vanilla as I expected, it is more subtle. It's still a bit sweeter than I prefer so I plan to mix it with some non-aromatic to balance the taste to suit my palate. This is a top notch top class tobacco. Highly recommend to any aromatic lover. Perfect balance of aroma and sheer tobacco. It has amazing aroma and delightful taste with no bite and slow and steady burn. One of the best of its kind. Just fell in love!

Stanwell Melange is my most favorite Aromatic, it reminds me of being twelve again and the Apricot tree that we had right outside the fence gate. As soon as I saw that Stanwell had another flavor, I knew I had to try it.

I’m conflicted: and I know it’s a Conflict of Expectation. The tin note does not make me think of Vanilla at all, because I am quite familiar with the smell of pure vanilla extract used in baking. Neither does the room note. Maybe I was expecting to smell cookies, and it’s not, it’s Tobak! That being said, it’s a good, solid, inoffensive aromatic that is quite enjoyable. It didn’t jump out at me, and unlike the Melange, I doubt I will be buying any to cellar. I was going to say that I would buy it again, but I just opened some Briarworks “Sweet Tea”, that Tobak smells more like “Vanilla” to me.

*Updated 4/2024* This has become a perfect blending Tobac for making my own blend out of another stiff Virginia blend, from a very well known house, that I also found to be “meh”. Updated to 3.5 stars....Read More

This tobacco isn't for me. It looks like a quality made blend but it dosent taste or smell like any vanilla i have ever seen. Has a different unexpected "twang" to it that overpowered any vanilla casing. Its not a bad taste just clearly not vanilla. It burned well and didnt bite through the bowl. Just not for me....Read More
