Tatuaje: Bon Chasseur Tuxtla Cigars
Product Number: 007-053-0184
First released in 2022 as a limited-production series, the Tuxtla line from Tatuaje pays homage to the city of San Andrés Tuxtla, Mexico, known for its distinctive San Andrés tobacco. Tatuaje often focuses on Nicaraguan tobaccos with complementing Ecuadorian and Connecticut Broadleaf varietals, but founder and head blender Pete Johnson has utilized Mexican San Andrés leaf before in the Mexican Experiment and ME II cigars. Still, the Tuxtla fills a special place within Tatuaje's portfolio, and it's come to define a series of special re-release cigars that pull from iconic blends in Tatuaje's history.
The Bon Chasseur, which translates from French as Good Hunter, was first released in 2013 as part of the Brown Label for Tatuaje's 10th anniversary celebration alongside the Belle Encre. The Tuxtla edition features the same blend of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco as the original release, though trades the Ecuadorian Habano wrapper for one of rich Mexican San Andrés leaf. Limited to 50,000 cigars total in a singular 5 3/8 x 52 Robusto vitola, this is a great way to experience a classic blend in a new light.
