Home Fragrance: Lampe Berger Cube Amber Lamp
In France, it is named the "Encrier" meaning inkwell. The Lampe Berger Cube design, as it is called in the US, takes its inspiration, as you may have already guessed, from the compact designs of the antiquarian inkwell. It's a novel manner of preserving the aesthetics of a cultural artifact which is, suffice to say, no longer very extant. Of course, it also makes for a particularly convenient little fragrance lamp, readily nestled onto even the smallest nightstand or end-table.
Though Lampe Berger simply refers to this version as "marron" (brown), the color is in fact a rich, dark, warm chestnut with noticeable amber and copper tones.
