Other 6mm charcoal filters I tried restricted the draw far too much. These do restrict the draw a bit, but in a good way. 6mm charcoal filters are harder to find but I think you'll be happy with the Savinelli brand. The comparison with the other 6mm charcoal brand in night and day.

These are pretty good. I prefer the balsa as they cool the smoke more and give a smoother smoking experience. I don't use tobacco; preferring a common herbal blend if ya know what I'm sayin' and these things let the full flavor through. Even the balsa doesn't do that. The ceramic screens on the end are worth reusing in glass pipes as screens, though they are a bit chonky for the job. The Balsa last for two bowls before I need to change it but these only last for one, and can get stuck if you push beyond one....Read More

These work just like the 9mm charcoal filters but are made specifically for Savinelli or Rossi pipes that accomodate 6mm filters. For me, these work better than the balsa filters. They do however restrict the draw by a very small amount and haven't been an issue. I used to be able to buy a similar filter years ago, but haven't been able to find them until Smoking Pipes started selling these little beauties. I'll still use balsa for some blends I smoke, but for those blends that tend to bite in an otherwise unfiltered pipe, I'll use these so I can enjoy my pipes and tobacco without the struggle....Read More
