Founded in Ettenstatt, Bavaria in 1945, White Elephant offers a wide array of highly-absorbent filters that make any smoke dryer. White Elephant's Superdry filters can accommodate virtually any pipe, regardless of tenon size. Part of the Superdry line, this is meerschaum granulate, which one inserts into the bottom of a pipe chamber before packing the tobacco. The meerschaum removes moisture from the smoke before it reaches the shank and stem, allowing for filtration even without a tenon designed to fit a traditional filter. This particular pack contains 30-grams of Superdry meerschaum granulate.

These are very similar to the nording stones. They do a good job of collecting moisture, but for me I prefer them to assist me in over packing and ending up with a clump at the bottom from excessive tamping. For both purposes I would recommend.

It works very well in a pipe. It absorbs water very well in places where there is a lot of humidity in the air and doesn't bring out the pungency like the clay one does

e chips, then packed in some tobacco. The draw was naturally too loose to start but after a few tries and getting the tobacco packed a bit tighter, wow, did it smoke beautifully. Next week will be "new pipe week" as I will be pulling out a half-dozen unfiltered pipes that have sat in my drawer unsmoked and testing them all out with these Meer chips. Also have a bag of the Nording Keystones to compare. I've heard anecdotally that they are pretty much interchangeable. We shall see. For now, I am really glad I gave these meer chips a chance!...Read More
