A handsome pipe stand rendered from walnut and a strip of maple burl, this piece from Neal Yarm holds a full seven day set, with soft padding at both top and bottom to prevent damaging the finishes. Designed to hold a number of shapes and sizes, including bent and straight pipes, this is a fine piece with which to keep track of your rotation.

This is my first Neal Yarm stand (actually my first pipe stand, period) and I was really drawn to the aesthetic. Simple but elegant and it looked well made. When I received it, I appreciated the craftsmanship of it, but I was a little perplexed as to why it was unfinished. The wood itself is pretty, but it has barely been sanded and the wood is a little rough in areas. And there is no finish whatsoever on the stand. It is just bare wood. I can now see in the picture that the stand is unfinished, but mine is even more so. It won't take me any time to run some steel wool over it to smooth it out and put a couple of coats of linseed oil on it, but I was expecting that to have already been done. The pricing isn't outrageous for a piece like this, but even a cheap Decatur pipe stand is finished and smooth. Otherwise, it is a well made stand and the wood is very pretty. It fits all the pipes that I wanted to display. I have two Brandy shapes that are a little snug next to each other, but they still fit nicely....Read More

Looking at the pictures the Neal Yarm pipe stands looked ok to me, I figured it would get the job done but was excepting something kind of flimsy. Not the case, the pipe stand is way sturdier than I expected it to be and the overall quality of the wood and finishes are very nice. The felt used for the bowls and the stems to rest on is very well attached and laid exactly centered in all the spots it’s used. Even the bottom of the pipe stand has nice felt pads that it rests on. All standard size pipes fit perfectly, I have 1 Neerup Harvest Moon (Outside Diameter 1.95”) that is a tight fit but I can still fit a standard size pipe next to it. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase, I will most likely be buying more as my pipe collection grows....Read More
