The idea behind Cohiba's Nicaragua cigar was a stick that had the kick and complexity of a Nicaraguan puro, but with more balance and spiciness. This balance is achieved by pairing Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos with a Honduran Colorado oscuro wrapper, resulting in a medium to full-bodied smoke packed with a variety of flavors, including coffee, pepper, and leather, and cedar.

As an "en Crystale," the N52 vitola comes with each stick in its own cork-stoppered glass tube.
