When you read reviews describing the new Perla del Mar as "smooth", believe them. How smooth? When I tried one myself, the smoke was so soft I was tempted to inhale - and did. Normally when it comes to cigars that's asking for trouble, and especially when there's Nicaraguan leaf at play, but this blend produced not even the slightest hint of sting or burn.
It isn't as bold or heavy of flavor as you'd typically expect from something with a Nicaraguan filler/binder combo, but then it isn't supposed to be. What it is, is a smoke like fine silk, with a rich substance, creamy, natural sweetness, and subtler, underlying hints of those darker Nicaraguan flavors.

This cigar is rich and creamy and, yes, you can pick up the Nicaraguan flavors, but, somehow, they don't dominate the profile.
