AJ Fernandez: Bellas Artes Toro

Product Number: 007-731-0031

Literally meaning "fine arts," the Bellas Artes cigars from A.J. Fernández are quite a creative addition to the revered brand's portfolio. Nothing about this stick is "normal," as the Nicaraguan company flexes its artistic muscles to feature a unique blend of tobaccos aged at least three years. The wrapper itself is a hybrid — named Rojita — and is comprised of Connecticut 8212, Corojo 99, and Havana 2000 seeds that are grown in Nicaragua. Inside, you'll find fillers from the Mata Norte region of Brazil, combined with Honduran leaf, and Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa. These are all, then, married to a Nicaraguan Havana 92 binder from the Quilalí growing region, a region with over 200 years' worth of tobacco history. As such, these box-pressed sticks present a flavor profile of sweetness, earthy cedar, and slight notes of citrus and pepper. Offered here in the Toro vitola.
