Alec Bradley: Kintsugi Corona Gorda Cigars
Product Number: 007-070-0076
In Japanese, kintsugi, or kintsukuroi, means "golden joinery" or "golden repair," and it refers to an ancient art form of repairing broken pottery by filling and strengthening cracks with a mix of lacquer and powdered metal, often silver, gold, or platinum. Furthermore, the practice has a deeper, philosophical aspect, considering the flaws and broken aspects of an object as meaningful, historic characteristics to be remembered and respected rather than disguised.
Alec Bradley's Kintsugi cigar draws inspiration from this art and philosophy: In the same way that kintsugi art work creates beauty out of brokenness, so do cigars bond and unite people from many different, often disparate walks of life. Released in 2020, the Kintsugi cigar celebrates camaraderie and comprises Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers within a Honduran wrapper grown in Trojes, a city in the Jalapa Valley region.
