The Angel's Share is a special version of OpusX, named for the portion of wine that naturally evaporates in the aging barrels. Traditionally, it's thought that this evaporated portion is for guardian angels who watch over the wine, sampling it and giving it their blessing. Similarly, the OpusX Angel's Share cigar was created in memory of the Fuente's warehouse fire of 2012 in which the family lost precious tobacco stock that had been aging since the 1940s and '50s — the smoke from such a tragedy paralleling the evaporated, angel's share wine. As a cigar, the OpusX Angel's Share is a Dominican puro like the regular OpusX line, but it features a wrapper from the tobacco plant's middle priming instead of the top priming.
