Bolivar: Cofradia Oscuro Gigante Cigars
Product Number: 007-061-0020
Named for the famous liberator of South America from Spanish rule, Bolívar is an iconic brand whose history dates to the turn of the 20th century in Cuba. Bolívar cigars were particularly known for being quite full-bodied compared to the conventional profile of traditional Cuban cigars, and while the brand now also produces cigars in the Dominican Republic and Honduras, it still prioritizes bold tobaccos and robust blends.
Bolivar's Cofradia line of cigars is crafted in Honduras at the STG Danlí factory, its name translating into English as "brotherhood." The series debuted in 2020, and, in 2024, Bolivar expanded the line with this cigar: the Cofradia Oscuro. The Cofradia Oscuro features Dominican leaf in its filler blend, and it trades the original's Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper for one of U.S.-grown Connecticut Broadleaf Oscuro, making for a much stouter blend with a full-bodied flavor profile.
