Caldwell's Eastern Standard cigar is a unique take on Connecticut wrappers, featuring a hybrid-seed wrapper of Connecticut Shade and Brazilian Mata Fina. Expanding the line, Caldwell created the Midnight Express as a Maduro version of the Eastern Standard, showcasing a wrapper of lower-priming, Connecticut Arapiraca Maduro leaf. The binder and filler blend, though, is the same as the original Eastern Standard, comprising Criollo '98 and Corojo Ligero from the Dominican Republic and Nicaraguan Habano underneath a Dominican Habano binder.
